Background: For the last 7 years, the Adams 12 Gifted & Talented Parents Group (A12GTPG) has hosted a "Super Saturday" event each school year for elementary students and parents. Super Saturday is designed, organized and run by parent volunteers from the district. We have offered a wide range of speakers and a wide range of new learning opportunities for district GT students.
The 2/29 Super Saturday will include:

Approximately 150 GT students from kindergarten to 5th grade

15 different student speakers divided between 9 student tracks

4 parent speakers on topics of interest to GT families

A parkour obstacle course activity for students hosted during lunch by APEX
-
Time for students and parents to connect with other families from the district
Who Can Attend: Student sessions are available for students in grades K-5. Parent sessions are open to ALL parents with GT students of any age and parents are encouraged to attend with or without students.
Sessions: Each student will choose between 2 or more tracks composed of four 55 minute sessions covering four different topics. There are two tracks available for grades K/1, three for grades 2/3, and four for grades 4/5. Each session is hosted by a professional from the community who loves their work and wants to share their passions with our students. We have a wide range of amazing student topics this year, including Marine Science, Chinese Brush Painting, Theater, Paleontology, Anatomy of the Eye, Forensics, Emotions, Sports Math, Destination Imagination, Yoga, Nature Identification, Electricity & Vacuum Cannons, History of Secrecy, and Law. Before you register, you will be able to review a description of each session and a bio for the instructor.
The schedule below shows the combination of classes which make up each track. Students should only register for one track and will attend each of the 4 sessions listed for that track.
The event also includes sessions for parents on topics related to GT which will be presented by area experts.
Cost: Everything done by the Adams 12 GT Parents Group is through volunteerism and donations. Your donation of $10 per student for this event not only covers the supplies needed for this full day educational experience for you and your student(s) but also helps us to pay for other speakers and events each year. After you register, you will receive a confirmation email with instructions on how to pay through your district PayForIt account.
After Registration: If, after you've registered, you learn that you can't attend the event, please let us know so that another student can be offered the opportunity to attend.
On February 29th: The event will run from 8:30 am until approximately 2:10 pm and will be held at Rocky Top Middle School (14150 York St, Thornton, CO 80602). Please note that this is a different venue than in years past. Parents will be required to check in upon arrival and will be required to check out at the end of the event or when leaving at any time throughout the day. Lunch is NOT provided with this event. Families should bring a sack lunch for all children and adults attending.
We strongly encourage parents to stay with us during the event rather than just dropping off students. Parents are welcome to go with their students throughout the day, meet with other parents, or attend the parent talks. The GT community is small, and this is a unique chance to discuss GT-related topics with others.
